Specifically, it's happening on Facebook and it's exposing, er, uncovering, um, revealing (I give up!) just how little women think about modesty in speech and their online lives.

In an apparent homage to Breast Cancer Awareness, women are posting one word status updates to their Facebook accounts. And that one word is the color of their bra. But wasn't it the 900 numbers of the 90's where the first question asked at $1.99/minute was, "what are you wearing?"

One of my FB friends (a woman) stated that she thought this novel idea must have been thought up by a 15 year-old boy. Another woman commented that, in explaining what was happening with her to her hubby, he proceeded to ask "who was in the white and who was in the pink?" It became evident to her in that moment that this was not a good idea. And a male friend said how uncomfortable he felt around a coworker that informed all her FB friends (including my friend) that she was wearing blue today.

I can't wait for cervical cancer awareness month to hear all the women say, "thong", "bikini", and, "granny drawers". Like a guy needs the visual of their wife's friends underwear. Remember the old term, "unmentionables"? So much for modesty.

I know that sounds harsh, especially because I see really honorable and quality women friends doing it. But this is just a case of not thinking with discernment and love of your neighbor (the male kind,) and thinking it's cute.  And acting playful and flirtatious.  And everyone is doing it and it's for a good cause.

But here's the deal.  You're potentially hurting peop le. And you're not helping anyone.  If you've done it, here's my challenge: make a donation to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Oh but that's not as easy as saying "Orange" or "Nude"?  It is now.

With a simple text message, you can make a $5 donation to Susan G. Komen for the Cure by simply texting the word “KOMEN” to 90999. Each $5 donation will be added to your next mobile phone bill.  You can donate the $5.00 amount up to 5 (five) times per monthly billing cycle. Pastey this into your status box with I DID and you'll be uplifting, and crossing your heart to make a real difference instead of just adding to the tittilation of the online community.

So my sisters, can you go wild with that?  I just did (texted.)

P.S. - For a great book on modesty in all its forms that won the Christian Book Award in 2007, pick up a copy of Sexy Girls: How Hot Is Too Hot? by Hayley DiMarco.  Hey, I know her!
